Enjoy a gourmet meal and relax by the fireplace at Hoven Bar, and then spend the night in one of Norway’s best hotels at the foot of the mountain.
Go sledding, try snowshoe hiking or walk in prepared tracks with views of the fjord landscape. Take it easy, or go far. The choice is yours.
- and everyone else
- and everyone else
An old tale claims that Mount Hoven has it's name after Sleipner - the horse of the Viking God Odin - who, on a ride across the mountains, struck his hoof and left the powerful impression on the mountain side. Nobody knows if it's completely true, but what's certain is that the view is as powerful and magical as before. The difference is that now it's available for absolutely everyone - not only old gods and fit people.
Gourmet food is made 1011 meters above the fjord, innermost by the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. In a restaurant drawn from a James Bond movie - right on the edge of the cliff towards the fjord – on the top of Loen Skylift. The ingredients are mostly local, and so are the beverages: apple juice from the village at the foot of the mountain, 5000-year-old water from the mighty Jostedalsbreen Glacier and Odin's own beer.
Stay comfortably while exploring the fjords in winter. You’ll find one of Norway’s best hotels at the foot of Mt. Hoven. Impressive breakfast and dinner buffets, an a la carte restaurant and free access to heated indoor and outdoor pools.
